Look Who’s Talking… at the dv expo

I’ve just been asked to be a Guest Speaker at this year’s DV Expo in Pasadena.  I’ll be joining the panel on Thursday morning, 9am, at a session titled iPhone Apps in Production.

I’ll be discussing a few of the apps I’ve mentioned here, as well as a few others.  I’m very excited to show off the brand new (not-yet-released) version of Screenplay that allows for Final Draft import and export.

If you’re at the Expo, or in the neighborhood, feel free to stop by and say hello!  Make sure you check the Expo’s website for pricing information before you make the drive.

Shang-Chi Director Directed From His iPhone

I enjoyed reading this brief ScreenRant story, so I thought I’d share it here. It describes how Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, was forced to direct an important scene via his iPhone while in the hospital for the birth of his child! Sadly, it doesn’t divulge the details of that unusual workflow, but it’s an excellent reminder that we’re all toting the world’s most versatile piece of filmmaking gear in our pockets and purses!

  1. Hi Carson,

Yes, it does cost $ to get into the lectures. It’s not cheep, but there are many terrific speakers this year. Today and Tomorrow are the last days. Online registration is closed, but you can check out this page for pricing info.

  2. Hi Harold,

The seminar went great! Small crowd, but they were very focused, which can be a lot better than 200 yawners. Got to speak alongside a few of my newest heros. And I was able to show some great images of the Owle prototype. Many ooos and aaahs. Can’t wait to see it hit the shelves!
