Updates a poppin'!

Greetings campers!  Here's a few recent app updates you might not be aware of.

Vintage Video Maker 1.5 - This great app for adding a old-time look to any video is now iPhone 4 friendly.

ProPrompter 1.5 - Some BIG imprvements here.  When using the app on your iPad, you can now feed live prompter video to any VGA monitor using the iPad VGA connector!  Also in this update comes the ability to edit your prompter scripts in a WYSIWYG editor mode.  This means you can edit your scripts while knowing exactly what it will look like for your talent.  That's awesome if you want to add very specific line breaks, etc. They've also addressed some bugs.  Here's a look at ProPrompter (and some related hardware) in action.

mRelease 1.0.3 - They've made it iPhone 4 friendly, and added an optional 'Witness field.  Useful, I suppose, but I'm really looking forward to editable releases.  You can read our review here.

Toland ASC Digital Assistant 1.1 - Yup, there's already update!  This new version adds high-res graphics for the iPhone Retina display.  It also squashes a few bugs and such.  You can watch an interview with the developers right here.

1st Video Hits the App Store!

Want to get serious about editing video on your iPhone? Then you'll want to check out Vericorder's 1st Video!  It was just released in the App Store, and runs $9.99 -- a very good price as far as we're concerned.

Want to see its feature set in action? Check out our video coverage from NAB.

Then read this excellent review by Scott Simmons over at ProVideoCoalition.com.

What are you waiting for?  Go edit something!  ...and then tell us about it in the comments section below.

NAB '10 - Blackmagic Videohub

I had seen it all -- Stood in every line, tasted every bit of crap food, and tried not to stare at every scantly-clad booth babe.  Yes, I was done with NAB, and heading out the door... when suddenly I noticed this:  Blackmagic Designs was using an iPad to control their line of VideoHub routers!

They hadn't announced it, promoted it, or discussed it at all.  But, there it was, attached to the wall.

Watch the video to take a closer look.

NAB '10 - Doddle

It's 1am, you're trapped on set, and the director just called for a two-headed giraffe.  Where are you going to find one at this hour?!  Fear not!  A new company called Doddle has developed a complete production guide for your iPhone.  You can look up all kinds of production resources using a variety of search criteria.

They've got big plans for the future.  I'll let them tell you all about it.

NAB '10 - Gradiest for Cineform First Light

Ever since Stu Maschwitz first published a mock-up of a virtual iPad-based trackball color correction interface, the net has been a buzz.  I've received a ton of email, asking when something like this will be available.  Well, it may be sooner than you think!

While at NAB, I met with Clinton Torres, a developer who's nearly finished with Gradiest, his color correction control surface.  He's designing it for use with Cineform's First Light.  Once he's got that up and running, he plans to make his app compatible with other host applications as well (like Apple's Color).

Here's a sneak peak at his unfinished app!

NAB '10 - Vericorder 1st Video

Sure, there were plenty of booths at NAB that cost more than most homes, but this is the product that really caught our eye.  1st Video from Vericorder is an outrageous looking video editor for the iPhone.  It looks and feels totally professional.  The interface is smooth and well thought out.  We're very excited to put this app to work.

It's due to be released any day now, and will cost under ten smackers!
