CES: Did Parrot Invent an iPhone controlled hovercam?!

3D Televisions? Pffft. Tablet Computers? Whatever. eReaders? So 2009.

This year, the hottest item on the show floor was a toy. A kick ass, iPhone controlled, flying quadrocopter! This is the Parrot AR Drone, and it is awesome. But what does it offer the HHH filmmaker? How about two on-board cameras for starters. They haven’t released any availability or pricing info yet.

Check out the video for details about those 2 cameras!

Neat toy!! The first question that I thought of was stability. Assuming this would be a great way to cheaply get a "fly by" type of shot I think that would definitely be an issue to tackle. The quadricopter looked quite wobbly at least at this stage of the game.

Thanks!I'll say this... if Parrot doesn't let you record the video stream, I'm guessing some hacker will release an app for jailbroken phones to do just that. The only down side is the stream is currently a low-ish frame rate. Maybe 15fps? maybe slower. Couldn't tell. Best,-Taz

Thanks guys, great update, we have all been wondering if this is possible.
