Running Thousands Of IPhone 'Apps'

So.. there are these "apps" that run on the iPhone, which is great if you have one. Likewise, there are "apps" that are meant just for Blackberrys, just for the Android OS, even just for Intel netbooks. Do you see the problem? What used to be generic "PC software" or "Mac software" is increasingly being fragmented into these mobile-platform-centric exclusive markets. The device manufacturers win, customers lose. And there is no end to this fragmentation, it can continue indefinitely as players come and go.

Solution? Make it possible to run all (ALL, I mean **ALL**) these "apps", their offsprings, their parents and grandparents (going back to DOS 1.0 and prior) on ANY device, including $10 drugstore cellphones. THAT is true freedom, true mobility.

But how? Answer – neither the "app" nor the data it generates/processes lives on the device. It'll all be CLUBed instead:

You make some great points in your blog, Saty! It all makes me long for the days when Apple only allowed webapps on the iPhone! Back then, ALL the mobiles were able to access the same tools.

I don't want someone to be able to buy a cheap phone and run all the apps I have on my iPhone, exclusivity helps keep development fresh.
